The Newly Appointed Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bosnia and Herzegovina Visited the Alija Izetbegović Foundation
It was a particular honor and pleasure to welcome the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Sylvia Abu Leben, on February 9, 2026, at the Alija Izetbegović Foundation in Sarajevo.
The visit was organized as part of an introductory meeting aimed at strengthening communication and exploring opportunities for joint cooperation. On this occasion, the parties discussed the Foundation’s areas of activity and its role in preserving the legacy of the late President Alija Izetbegović, as well as the history of his struggle.
During the meeting, the difficult circumstances faced by the Palestinian people were highlighted, with particular emphasis on the suffering of Palestinian women and orphaned children in the shadow of current events. The discussion also addressed the Memorandum of Cooperation signed last year between the Alija Izetbegović Foundation and the Yasser Arafat Foundation, as well as the importance of its implementation through concrete joint projects.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to deepen relations between the Embassy of the State of Palestine and the Foundation, with the aim of strengthening bridges of cooperation and understanding between the peoples of Palestine and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We sincerely hope that the Palestinian people will soon see the day when they can live in peace and dignity, and we extend our gratitude to Ambassador Sylvia Abu Leben for her visit to the Alija Izetbegović Foundation.
