Delegation of the Alija Izetbegović Foundation at a Reception with a Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Šefik Džaferović

A member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Šefik Džaferović hosted the delegation of the Alija Izetbegović Foundation on January 26, 2021. The importance of the establishment of the Foundation as well as the activities and the future projects of the Foundation were among the topics discussed during this meeting.

A member of the Foundation’s Board Mr. Faris Nanić informed the member of the Presidency Mr. Džaferović about the main goals of the Alija Izetbegović Foundation and its organizational structure, while the Secretary-General Mr. Muhamed Mulahmetović and the Secretary of the Foundation Mrs. Esma Zlatar presented the list of the projects that the Foundation aims to implement in the following months.

The member of the BH Presidency Mr. Džaferović expressed his satisfaction with the establishment and work of the Alija Izetbegović Foundation, further stressing and supporting the efforts of the Foundation to base its activities on the views and the rich intellectual legacy of Alija Izetbegović, the first President of the Presidency of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to advance pluralism and the respect for the diversity of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian society.

Mr. Džaferović specifically emphasized the importance of the initiatives and programs which confirm the historical role of Alija Izetbegović in the process of restoring the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the defense against aggression in the war of 1992 – 1995, but also those that discuss and analyze the attitudes of Alija Izetbegović as a philosopher, author and statesman, and the most significant person in the modern history of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The delegation of the Foundation expressed gratitude to Mr. Džaferović for the reception and the promised support for the implementation of the Foundation’s future projects.
